It is not necessary to attend if you have already attended a training session this past summer.: The purpose of this class is to provide a foundation of understanding for the MDS/RAI process.to anyone arriving late (late is defined as once the activity begins, registration closes at the time the activity begins), or returning late any amount of time following time designated for a break or lunch. The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services Regulatory Services Division is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services-Regulatory Services Division is also an approved provider of continuing social work education by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners.Registered Nurses earn 10.25 contact hours upon successful completion of this activity.: This comprehensive course is designed for the registered nurse, licensed vocational nurse, social worker and staff to provide an overview of the steps that should be taken by a facility to meet the Condition of Participation of Active Treatment.: The Nursing Facility Director of Nursing (DON) Academy is an educational activity that will provide participants with evidence-based best practice information as well as external resources that are necessary not only for the successful management of a nursing facility but also for the improvement of the quality of care and quality of life of the residents, with an emphasis placed on the team approach to quality improvement and creating a person-centered care culture.The information provided during the training will include topics on the state and federal regulations for long-term care, staff engagement and retention, leadership, person-centered care, culture change, dementia care, and many others.
The courses are not approved by the National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Care Administrators (NAB).
Additionally, providers are given the opportunity to practice writing skills and to develop an acceptable plan of correction.
Registered Nurses earn 3.50 contact hours upon successful completion of this activity.
: The purpose of this training is to assist employees of the Enrollment Broker(s), Managed Care Organizations and the Health and Human Services Commission in building awareness of individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Related Conditions and providing an overview of services and programs within DADS which may be transitioned to Health and Human Service Commission (HHSC).
: Local Authority Training Related to Service Coordination Provided to: Individuals with IDD Residing in Nursing Facilities; and Individuals Diverting or Transitioning from Nursing Facilities into the Community.
The eight survey tasks will be reviewed, along with patient outcomes, in an effort to achieve optimal standards of care and quality of life for the residents with intellectual disabilities.
